Agwe or Master Agwe is the master of the waves of the sea. He is a Loa (spirit) originating from the Kingdom of Dahomey, present-day Benin.

La sirène (The mermaid), wife of Master Agwe, is generous and wise. Living in the river mouths, she is renowned for having the habit of kidnapping little boys in order to train them.
