Title
The Fishing Season
Description
Due to lack of resources, many families in Haiti use canoes or small paddle boats to fish. However, though the largest sector of the Haitian economy is agriculture, there exists a large potential for a commercial fishing industry due to Haiti’s proximity to north flowing currents off its coasts. Currently, there are small fisheries in small ponds and canals throughout Haiti, where varieties of deep-sea fish like bonitos and tuna thrive.
