Landscape Scene uses tall trees that frame the corners of the canvas. It draws attention to the Haitian community pictured in the center of the composition. As they line up to visit the local river bank, residents circulate Haiti's fertile landscape of bright greens and blues to give viewers a sense of the fresh vegetation that exists in Haiti. The quaint scene is reflective of a contemporary practice in Haiti where people use bodies of water as public space to meet and bathe communally.
