Haiti. British Occupation. Document signed in English, 3 pages folio, Jeremie, Santo Domingo, April 29, 1798. A sworn affidavit by Samuel McCutcheon, master of the American brig Friendship of Philadelphia, that the vessel is not in a fit state to proceed to Port-au-Prince and that he has been ordered to return to Philadelphia as soon as he has sold his cargo. An interesting document dating from the British occupation of Haiti.
